The Opportunity
We are seeking a Head of Category to lead the strategic direction and management of our product assortment and categories globally. This leadership role involves building and managing a category management team to optimise portfolio performance, ensuring strong decision-making and strategic alignment to drive growth and profitability. The Head of Category will be responsible for the health of the product portfolio, overseeing the lifecycle management of existing products, and leading the creation and integration of new products.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in category management, a proven track record, and strong leadership capabilities.
The Role
Develop and implement category strategies and annual plans that align with the company’s overall objectives and drive market growth
Set strategic goals and KPIs for category performance, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business objectives
Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and category expansion strategies
In-depth understanding and comprehensive market analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive dynamics across different regions
Manage the oversee product lifecycles, including product development, pricing, and promotion strategies
Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimise revenue and profitability
Work closely with Design, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain teams to create innovative and market-leading furniture products
Collaborate with supply chain and sales to optimise product assortment and inventory levels
Develop and track KPIs to ensure category goals are met and financial targets are achieved, including reporting and recommendations to the Executive Team
Analyse sales data and performance metrics to assess category success and identify areas for improvement
Develop and manage the category budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control
Monitor financial performance, including profitability, margin analysis, and return on investment
Collaborate with members of the Global Leadership Team and the Executive Team
Coordinate with Marketing, Retail, Supply Chain, Design and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of category strategies
Drive cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance category performance and operational efficiency
About You
10+ years’ experience in Sales, Category or Product or Trade Marketing
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and financial management, along with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Experience in managing and leading a diverse team
Experience in furniture industry would be highly regarded
